Stunning Viewing Points of Victoria Falls : Victoria Falls is the one of the largest waterfalls in the entire world, the falls is located in Southern Africa. View Point 1.
The first point is the one where David Livingstone statue is facing eastwards towards the Main Falls, David Livingstone is the first explorer to discover the falls in November 16th 1855. This statue have survived two removal attempts in 2001 and 2003 by the Zambian government, that wanted the statue to be erected in Zambia on the other side of the river as to celebrate 150th anniversary of David Livingstone sightings of the Falls. This view offers you clear spot of the falls and some part of Devil’s Cataract Falls.
View Point 2.
View Point 2; it’s through a flight of steps known as the chain walk going down the bottom of the gorge. The steps, 73 of them are very steep and this advisable for the unfit travelers. This has a clear view of the gorge and according to the season; the main falls can be seen from this point. On the other side using this viewing point during rainy season the outline on the gorge can be seen clearly more than Main Falls.
View Points 3, 4 and 5.
Viewpoints 3, 4 and 5 being almost in the close location, they look that Devil’s Cataract and the cataract island on the far left. Devil’s Cataract is the tiny of the 5 falls, its measured 70 meters deep but returns more water than others in rainy season. The cataract island is a piece of solid land that separates the Devil’s falls from the main falls. And during the rainy season the water passes through Cataract Island.
View point 6.
View point 6 offers tourists the best view of the Devil’s cataract during the morning hours. The point is near opposite the cataract island and the first part of the main falls can be spotted at this point. On as a safari you can spot the David Livingstone statue from this point.
View point 7.
On your Victoria falls safari this point is the best to view the main falls that are 93 meters deep and about 150 meters wide, is the biggest of all the falls and returns more water during the high water season, as opposed to the points which are directly opposite because the points opposite have their visibility affected by the continuous sprays. This view point being small is surrounded by tall trees, swampy areas and among others which offers wonderful views.
View point 8 and 9.
View point 8 and 9 are opposite Main Falls the falls is very hard to see as continuous spray and showers dominate the area. On these points you can adopt the rain season regardless the season. During the rainy season on these points you can experience the spray from the falls where every tourist can be soaked very heavy. These points do not offer best photographic experiences.
View point 10.
View point 10 is opposite Devil’s pool and the visibility is also hindered by the spray like view 8 and 9. During the rainy season there are not best spots but it can offer you the best views of the main falls. Devil’s pool is a volcanic vent with a rocky shelf that prevents the swimmer from the water rushing past. As swimming is done during the dry season.
Viewpoints 11 and 12.
Viewpoints 11 and 12 offer the views of David Livingstone Island and the Horseshoe falls on the right. Well said that David Livingstone stood opposite when he first saw the falls and tried to measure the depth of the falls by lowering the line that he had attached some bullets and a square of calico.
About 90 meters the weight became logged on a projecting rock still some distance before the bottom by Serpa Pinto in 1878, as he was lowering down the bottom while using a rope made out of his shirts. As well it’s said that David Livingstone planted some fruits and coffee seeds on the island that he named Garden Island, though it was unfournate they were eaten by the hippos and other animal species.
View point 13.
View point 13 offers you a view of Horseshoe Falls, here you are required to have a raincoat to avoid being soaked with rain. This point is usually during the rainy season and the depth of falls can be assessed better at the time of the year when it’s fully dry. As this period offers you the perfect bird watching.
View point 14.
View point 14 overlooks rainbow falls known as the deepest of falls measuring 108 metres deep. The point is not protected towards the gorge and very dangerous not only during the wet season when it is slippery but during the dry season as well as there is no barrier to safeguard viewers. During your visit to this point it showers every time during the high water level just like the Horse shoe falls.
View point 15.
View point 15 is known as the most dangerous point in all. And mostly it’s dangerous during rainy season. On a safari to this point, visitors are advised to keep away from the edge, as it can be slippery and one can easily fall. As to get best from the danger point it’s necessary to climb but also the point is very treacherous as one can easily fell below the gorge. On the danger point the eastern cataract on the Zambian side that can be seen cleary and the boiling pot below to the right. The eastern cataract is 101 meters deep. The waters from the devil’s cataract, main falls, Horseshoe Falls and Rainbow falls flows eastwards as the water from the eastern cataract flows westwards. It’s known that the two opposing currents meet below the danger point to form the boiling pot and continue moving southwards in the narrow gap in basalt rock in the danger point and the knife edge in the Zambian side.
View point 16.
On a Victoria Falls safari, the Victoria Falls Bridge is spotted from this view point. The bridge has a height 111 meters above the water level during the lowest water level and it’s about 198 metres long and this links Zimbabwe and Zambia.
